Internship Opportunities & Fellowship Programs

The Heinrich Böll Stiftung Israel Office welcomes applications for internship opportunities.

The Heinrich Böll Stiftung (HBS) is the German green foundation affiliated with the German Green Party (Alliance 90/The Greens = Bündnis 90/Die Grünen). The foundation has been funding projects in Israel since 1992, and the office in Tel Aviv opened in 1998. The work in Israel takes place in the complex and multidimensional context of German-Jewish relations, German-Israeli relations and the Israeli-Palestinian and Israeli-Arab conflict.

An internship at the HBS allows one to experience the daily work of our foundation and to familiarize oneself with diverse social change organizations in Israel. The internship positions are usually available for a period of three / six months, and comprise four and a half days of work a week (36 hours). Unfortunately, interns do not receive any kind of remuneration or coverage of travel expenses. Internships are primarily aimed at Bachelor students.

Interns are considered full members of the HBS team. They are encouraged to take an active part in the office as well as in events and other activities.

The intern's tasks consist of administrative work and support of program and event coordination. In addition, interns have a possibility to assist in research and writing of website articles.

We encourage applicants who are politically and socially involved, creative, pro-active, and have a genuine interest in the values and mission of the Heinrich Böll Foundation as well as in Israel. Fluent english language skills are essential.
We are particularly interested in receiving applications from people with a diverse background.

Application Procedures

To apply for an internship, please email the following to info@il.boell.org:

3.    relevant references such as university certificates and letter of recommendations;

As there are only a few spots available in any given year, the application process is competitive and positions are filled quickly. Nevertheless, we would like to encourage you to send us applications on an ongoing basis, as internships sometimes become available spontaneously.
