The Heinrich Böll Foundation is the independent political non-profit foundation affiliated to the German party “Alliance 90/The Greens”. With its headquarters in Berlin, the Heinrich Böll Foundation has 30 international offices. The Israel office is located in Tel Aviv, and additional regional offices are located in Ramallah, Beirut, and Tunisa. The foundation is a catalyst for green visions and projects, a think tank for policy development, and an international network. We provide funding for non-governmental organizations and implement conferences, support policy development, advocacy, and capacity building. In cooperation with and under the guidance of the Office Director, the Security and Foreign Policy Assistant will contribute in the management of the “Security and Foreign Policy” component of the HBS Israel Office.
Tasks and responsibilities

Planning, managing, and monitoring of overall activities and budgets of the programs.

Establishing and maintaining contacts with partner institutions and organizations in Israel.

Developing budgets and contracts, managing and monitoring all financial administration and reporting regarding the projects in direct contact with the partners involved.

Providing information, producing public relations material, and writing articles for the HBS website.
Profile:

Academic degree in Social or Political Sciences, Management, or other related fields.

Knowledge of international and European security and foreign policy as well as Middle East politics, especially the conflict and regional security issues is required, furthermore extensive knowledge about internal Israeli politics is desired.

Minimum of two years of work experience with knowledge of NGO sector in Israel is desirable.

Knowledge in project development and management. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a broad framework, to conceptualize programs in a creative manner and to interact with individuals and NGOs as well as governmental institutions.

Proven ability to work in a team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Fluency in written and spoken English and Hebrew is mandatory; preference will be given to German speakers, knowledge of Arabic is an asset.

Standard software literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.) is required.

Immediate availability is an advantage.
