Tel Aviv

The Heinrich Boell Stiftung (HBS) is the German green foundation affiliated with the German Greens Party (Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen). All major political parties in Germany are affiliated with a foundation, which, though independent, is politically aligned with them. These foundations are non-profit organizations funded by the German government. The Heinrich Böll Stiftung is an intellectually open, civic organization.

The foundation’s headquarters are located in Berlin with a staff of about 180 people. Internationally the foundation operates 33 offices, and collaborates with project partners in about 60 countries altogether.

The Tel Aviv office of the foundation works mainly in four areas:

  • Environment and Sustainability
  • Gender and Democracy
  • Regional and Security Policy
  • German-Israeli Dialogue

In cooperation with our local partners, hbs Tel Aviv facilitates workshops and conferences, trainings, publications and research. We support advocacy, capacity and coalition building and are active in initiating public debates on political, environmental, and social issues. Additional important activities of international cooperation include visitor programs, which enhance the exchange of dialogue and political networking, as well as staff development for committed activists.

The Heinrich Böll Foundation Tel Aviv is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
